MARIA SALOME

María Salomé is a 14-year-old girl, full of joy and sweetness, whose smile lights up everyone who has the opportunity to meet her. She lives in La Ceja with her mother and grandmother, who have been a fundamental pillar in her life and in her daily care process.

From an early age, María Salomé was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy, conditions that have affected her mobility and made the permanent use of a wheelchair necessary. Despite these challenges, her spirit is strong, her attitude is positive, and her ability to share love is immense.

Thanks to the support of Steps of Hope – Pasos de Esperanza, María Salomé has received essential assistance that has made a real difference in her quality of life. This includes the donation of her wheelchair, access to therapies, grocery support for her household, and the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience by seeing the ocean for the first time—a dream that filled her heart with joy and hope.

Currently, María Salomé continues her therapeutic process at home, guided with dedication and love by her grandmother, who each day becomes her hands, her strength, and her greatest support. This family effort reflects the importance of constant support and access to resources that allow children with disabilities to keep moving forward, even in the midst of difficulties.

María Salomé’s story is a testament to resilience, family love, and hope. Her journey reminds us that every act of support matters, that every gesture transforms lives, and that when a community comes together, it is possible to provide opportunities that uplift and strengthen the future of our children.
